The founder Lobsang Nima Soghatsang

Lobsang Nima Soghatsang was born on December 24th, 1941 in Ganzi, Eastern Tibet. In 1959 along with many other Tibetans, he was obliged to flee his homeland and make for India. With the assistance of the Red Cross, he attended a boarding school, four years later however, the Red Cross sent him to Nepal to work as a translator for Tibetan refugees. It was there that he met his wife Tashi Dolma. In 1966 he arrived in Switzerland as a refugee and became an X-ray assistant, he worked for different hospitals in the Canton of Zurich/Switzerland until 1999. He has two grown up sons.

Today he is exclusively engaged in the running and extension of the NIMA social projects in Tibet with his wife Tashi, who has been a geriatric nurse for many years.
